The Via Bona Slovakia award for 2013 for the most responsible big company went to the Slovenské Elektrárne. In the category of middle-sized/small company, the Nadácie Pontis foundation gave the prize to The Rock publishing house, parent company of The Slovak Spectator weekly.
Other companies rewarded were: Slovnaft as “the great employer”, Profesia for its Eujobs.sk project for “the fair player”, IKEA Bratislava as “the green company”, Pfizer Luxemburg as “the good partner”, the insurer of Slovenská Sporiteľňa bank as “the supporter of volunteering”, and Hewlett-Packard got the honorary mention in this category. These winners were selected by a jury of 47 independent experts that evaluated 52 company nominations, assessing their fairness towards customers, offering excellent conditions for their employees, support for environment or projects to improve the society in Slovakia. The public awarded the company Green Investments for the Villa Green boarding house, the TASR newswire wrote.
