PRIME Minister Robert Fico’s Smer party had property valued at €11.2 million in 2013, according to information about property management of political parties disclosed in parliament today.
The second wealthiest party was in last year Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) with €2.3 million, and third Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) with €2.2 million.
Most-Híd had €1.7 million; Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) had €684,756 and Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) €188,263. The Party of the Hungarian Community (SMK) reached €639,670 and SNS ended with €46,674.
The biggest debts in 2013 of almost €1.8 million had SDKÚ followed by Smer with €183,820 and KDH with debt of €72,389.
Nearly 80 percent of the respondents in a recent poll did not trust that the information that political parties provide about their financing as being complete and truthful, while only about 9 percent of respondents expressed the opposite opinion, the SITA newswire reported. The poll was carried out by the Polis Slovakia for SITA between June 23 and 28 on a sample of 1,322 respondents around the country.
