The senior ruling coalition Smer party would have won parliamentary elections held in late October or early November with 37.8-percent voter support, according to the latest Median SK poll published on November 29.
The survey showed that the opposition SDKÚ would have come second with 14.9 percent, ahead of junior coalition partners the Slovak National Party (SNS), 13.5 percent, and HZDS, 10.1 percent.
The Christian Democrats (KDH) got 10 percent support, ahead of fellow opposition party the ethnic-Hungarian SMK, with 9.5 percent.
The non-parliamentary Communist party (KSS) received 2.6 percent, which is below the five-percent support threshold needed to win seats in parliament.
Of the respondents, 28.3 percent would definitely have voted, while 31.4 percent would probably have done so. Another 8.2 percent would probably not have gone to the polls, while 23.8 percent definitely wouldn't have done so. A further 8.3 percent were unsure whether they would have voted or not.
The poll was conducted on a sample of 959 respondents aged between 18-79.
