REVERSING privatization, free university study, no fees for medical check-ups, the abolition of the flat tax including on VAT - these are just some of the policies the opposition Smer party presented at its national congress during the weekend, the daily Hospodárske noviny wrote.
The party declared in its document "Back to human dignity - first steps towards a social state" its aim of turning Slovakia into a social state.
According to analysts, Smer would find it difficult to work with the current ruling coalition parties, given its policies.
"Neither the Christian Democrats nor the Hungarian Coalition Party will agree with such conditions," political scientist Grigorij Mesežnikov, told the daily.
He said that the only parties who could work with Smer are the Communist party and the Movement for Democratic Slovakia.
