If parliamentary elections had been held at the end of February and the beginning of March, the ruling party Smer would have won, according to an opinion poll conducted by the MVK agency.
The survey was conducted between February 28 and March 6, on 1,104 respondents.
Smer was supported by 39.6 percent of respondents, 26.5 percent more than the second most popular party, the opposition Slovak Democratic and Christian Union, which was supported by 13.1 percent. The third most popular party, the Hungarian Coalition Party, was supported by 11.7 percent of respondents.
None of the other parties mentioned in the survey received enough support to get into parliament.
