The Slovak National Party (SNS) has agreed to the demands of Lukáč Bart – the dark-skinned man whose photograph was displayed on some SNS election billboards – by finding him a job, the TASR newswire was told by SNS press secretary Dušan Strauss on May 10.
Bart told Plus Jeden Deň daily that he either wanted more money for the photos used on the billboards, described by many people as racist, or for SNS to find him a job.
“The first (demand) would be against the principles of our programme. We don't want to feed those who don’t want to work. But we do want to have a social system that can’t be misused. Money isn’t for free. So, we’ve found a job for Lukac Bart,” said Strauss.
According to TASR's information, Bart has already accepted the offer. SNS billboards displayed a photograph of Bart, bare-chested with digitally-added tattoos and a gold chain around his neck, with the slogan: “So that we don’t feed those who don’t want to work”.
