According to TV JOJ's news website, noviny.sk, it was Lukáč who, described as 'obviously drunk', entered the hotel to spoil a graduation party and attack his girlfriend’s ex-husband.

Several people at the party who witnessed the incident said that Lukáč slapped the man and that "some kicking" was later seen, according to TV JOJ which also reported that Lukáč was heard shouting and using strong language.

Benková described "reports by the quasi-professional media" as untrue, stating that Lukáč become involved in the altercation only after he came to hand some documents to his girlfriend.
