Special force to protect Slovak embassy in Iraq

SIX specially trained members of the Department of Special Tasks of the Slovak Police will be protecting the Slovak Embassy and its three employees in Baghdad, the daily SME wrote.

The security situation in Iraq inspired the Foreign Affairs Ministry to request the change.

The police mission will last six months and will cost the state Sk9 million (€224,000).

Slovakia is sending its unit to Baghdad at a time when other states are considering pulling out.
