Spending on advertising in Slovakia totalled €1.1 billion in 2009, according to an analysis by the TNS SK agency reported by the SITA newswire. In comparison with 2008, when advertising spending amounted to €1.7 billion, the figure for 2009 represented a drop of 35.3 percent.
Expenditure on TV advertising fell significantly, mainly due to a fall in prices. Advertising spending in other media did not record such a significant drop. Revenue from print advertising decreased only slightly; outdoor advertising was unchanged and an increase was recorded in spending on cinema and radio advertising.
