SPP notes must be paid

The Supreme Court has ordered the SPP gas utility to pay Union Banka of the Czech Republic 350 million Czech crowns on promissory notes the latter holds signed by murdered ex-SPP boss Ján Ducký. The verdict is final.

SPP had argued that because the notes were signed with intent to defraud the company, they were not legal tender.

Police say they still don’t know how many such notes Ducký signed, and how many may be brought to SPP for payment.
