Tourism and Sports Minister Rudolf Huliak is facing allegations of non-transparent allocation of donations from Tipos, the state lottery company that falls under his ministry.
In recent weeks, several projects linked to Huliak and his party have received funding from Tipos. Among the beneficiaries is the village of Očová in central Slovakia, Huliak’s hometown and a place where he previously served as mayor, according to the daily Sme.
This is not the first time Tipos has come under scrutiny. Several years ago, the Supreme Audit Office highlighted deficiencies in the transparency of its donation distribution.

Who received donations
According to the newspaper, Tipos has been performing well, with both revenue and profit increasing year on year. The company redistributes a portion of its income through donations, sponsorships, and sports partnerships. Below are several examples of how the funds have been allocated:
To host the 21st edition of the Očovská Hruda folklore festival, the village of Očová received €15,000 — the maximum amount Tipos is permitted to award. An additional €5,000 was donated to support an Open Day event at the Očová airport.
