Slovak gross domestic product (GDP) grew in 0.9 percent in the third quarter of 2013 in constant prices when compared to the same period of last year. When cleaned of seasonal influences, the GDP grew in 0.7 percent against Q3 2012 and 0.2 percent against Q2 2013. This stems from the Slovak Statistics Office’s (ŠÚ) flash estimate published on November 14.
In current prices, a GDP of €18.996 billion was produced in the third quarter of this year – which means an increase in 1.1 percent against the same period of 2012, the TASR newswire quoted the ŠÚ. The flash estimate of gross domestic product will be specified and corrected, as well as enhanced in structures of individual items, while the results will be published on December 4.
Economic analysts approached by TASR ascribe the mild increase in pace of growth to foreign demand, while domestic demand continues to lag.
