Statistics Office: Inflation at 3.5 percent in October

Slovakia’s average annual inflation rate was 3.5 percent in October, the Statistics Office (ŠÚ) announced on Wednesday, November 16. The indicator grew by 0.3 percentage points on a monthly basis.

Slovakia’s average annual inflation rate was 3.5 percent in October, the Statistics Office (ŠÚ) announced on Wednesday, November 16. The indicator grew by 0.3 percentage points on a monthly basis.

In addition, the office announced that the year-on-year inflation rate, as measured according to the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices, grew by 4.6 percent. Prices fell slightly in only one area month-on-month: alcoholic beverages and tobacco (by 0.01 percentage points), the TASR newswire reported, citing the ŠÚ. Prices in all other areas rose month-on-month. Clothing and footwear, for example, posted one of the biggest increases, 0.07 percentage points, followed by health care on 0.04 percentage points and housing on 0.03 percentage points.
