Similar situations confront some surrounding municipalities and many municipalities in the region have had their communications with the rest of the world disrupted.

One of the municipalities suffering hardest from landslides is Nižná Myšľa in the area of Košice, where more than 40 houses were damaged. A group of geologists from the University of Technology in Košice is currently inspecting the area. The leader of the group, Ladislav Tomecz, told the TASR newswire that the group is doing everything they can to make it possible for people to continue to live in the village.
