The results of a survey sponsored by MasterCard which took place this June on a sample of 800 people suggests that over 80 percent of Slovaks shop online at least from time to time, and approximately one-third do so often. The most common reason deterring people from making online purchases is security, the SITA newswire wrote.
However, 54 percent of respondents consider online shopping to be secure. Young people in particular perceive online shopping positively. The main reasons why Slovaks make online purchases are speed, comfort and simplicity. Clients choose online stores mainly on the basis of price and advice and among the most frequently purchased items in Slovakia are electronics followed by books and clothes.
