A January survey by the GfK company shows that 35 percent of car owners drive less due to higher fuel prices. This information pertains equally to male and female drivers, while in particular people over fifty and residents of the Prešov Region limited driving to curb expenses, the SITA newswire wrote.
Most polled motorists want to save their fuel spending by controlling their consumption and other driving-related expenses. About 14 percent of respondents do not drive so frequently but use public transport more often. Twelve percent refill their cars in regions where motor fuels are cheaper while three percent of those polled try to cut their driving expenses by refilling abroad.
About 43 percent of Slovak drivers refill once a week most frequently while 33 percent usually refill once in two weeks. Fifteen percent of car users refill once a month. Drivers most often buy petrol and other motor fuels for Sk1,000-Sk2,000 monthly.
