The recently-adopted changes to the Labour Code are viewed as appropriate by only 25 percent of Slovaks, while 49 percent think that they were a bad decision and 26 percent can't or don't want to answer the question, according to a recent poll carried out by the Focus agency and published by the Public Affairs Institute (IVO).
Many of the 1,013 respondents approached at the beginning of November rejected the amendment to the Labour Code regardless of where they live or their gender, age, education or profession, the TASR newswire reported, citing the poll results. While opposition supporters were mainly against the amendment, Smer supporters were divided: 37 percent claimed it was the right move, while 38 percent opposed it (the remainder gave no answer).
