Firms doing business in Slovakia expect the new government to improve access to EU funds and increase transparency in public procurement, according to a survey of carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers in April which addressed 80 representatives from companies in various sectors.
According to the survey, 91 percent and 87 percent of companies respectively expect improvements in these areas. The Labour Code is also regarded by many companies as an obstacle to coping with the impacts of the economic crisis. Seventy-one percent of companies polled said they would welcome greater flexibility in the code, the SITA newswire reported. Tomáš Kuča , a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers Slovensko’s consultancy department, said that company CEOs had told the survey that the Labour Code does not enable them to react flexibly to the crisis.
