Slovaks are more optimistic about the economy, but less positive about the working of democracy in Slovakia and the EU than ten years ago.
A representative survey of the Focus polling agency conducted in the first half of June by the Focus polling agency has shown that only 28 percent of Slovaks believed that the economic situation in Slovakia would slightly worsen or significantly worsen during the following year. This is a steep decline compared to 80 percent in 2009.
On the other hand, while 42 percent of people in Slovakia were happy with the way democracy works in the country, the number dropped by 7 percentage points in 2019, the TASR newswire reported.
