ANO claims to have documentary evidence that one of its deputies, Viktor Béreš, demanded a bribe from a businessman for arranging a meeting with Economy Minister Pavol Rusko.
ANO handed the evidence to the police and plans to cancel Beres' membership of the party and withdraw him from parliament, the daily SME reported.
Béreš, chairman of ANO in the Trnava region, who entered parliament in September 2003, reportedly demanded Sk20,000 (€500) for arranging one meeting with Rusko.
"It is outrageous," said Béreš who wants to defend himself in court.
Rusko said that the only reason for the departure of Béreš from ANO is the alleged attempted bribery. He claims to personally know the businessman who requested the bribe.
Béreš said that Rusko wants to remove him because he knows some controversial information about Rusko.
He said that in past Rusko offered him a position of commercial attaché in Shanghai for a monthly salary of
€3,500.
