THE SWEDISH company Swep intends to build a €10 million (373 million) plant to produce heat interchangers in the Kechnec industrial park in eastern Slovakia.
Swep and the municipality of Kechnec signed a sales contract on three hectares of land on January 26, the SITA news agency wrote.
In the first stage the plant will employ over 100 people, of whom 80 percent will be blue-collar workers.
Swep Director Rikard Malmback said that the company has already starting hiring. The plant has been designed and will be built by Slovak firms.
"We want to launch trial operation this September," Malmback said.
Annual output is projected at 2 million heat interchangers, which will be chiefly used as components in water boilers and heating and air conditioning units.
