The Syndicate of Slovak Journalists (SSN) on August 30 called for a law that would categorize attacks on journalists while carrying out their duties as an attack on a public official.
At the same time, the syndicate expressed it appreciation to Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák, who offered police protection to Naďa Šindlerová, a reporter for the Plus 7 Dní weekly magazine whose home was almost burned down for writing about a court case involving the mafia. TASR
