CABINET members for the ruling SDKÚ party presented a demand on June 19 for the dismissal of the TASR state press agency head, Ivan Čeredejev, for spending more on a company car than the law allows, and for defending his actions with vulgar statements.
Čeredejev, who was found to have spent Sk600,000 ($12,800) more on a company BMW than a June 2001 cabinet edict allowed, reportedly said when challenged by journalists "that's bullshit. Write that statement down, please. It's bullshit. Write that."
Prime Minister Dzurinda asked Government Office head Tibor Tóth to investigate the case before the government decided.
