Tax entities submitted 1,084,407 income tax returns for last year as of mid-July of this year. For the first six months of last year, their number reached 981,900, according to the data released by Slovakia’s Tax Directorate.
The most income tax returns were submitted by self-employed persons, namely 540,154. Private entities on employment contracts submitted 397,752 income tax returns, while the number of legal entities that submitted income tax returns for last year reached 146,501, newswire SITA wrote.
The tax offices complied with 87 percent of those who asked for extension of the deadline for submitting income tax returns, similarly to last year, when offices complied with 88 percent of applicants. The directorate reported 23,293 extension applications, SITA wrote.
