Retailer Tesco has announced it will start offering mobile telephony services in Slovakia under the Tesco Mobile brand from December 2.
It is offering the service in partnership with the smallest mobile telephone operator in Slovakia, Telefonica O2 Slovakia. The latter’s director general, John McGuigan, said that Tesco will be a significant partner in the distribution of mobile telephony services thanks to its strong chain of stores.
Tesco will offer mobile telephone services based on prepaid cards with a uniform price for calls to all networks in the Slovak Republic and fixed networks in the European Union. Tesco stores will serve as the distribution channel for the prepaid cards. Tesco said customers will be able to keep their existing telephone numbers.
