Approximately 80,000 people visited the 39th Agrokomplex agriculture and food fair in Nitra, which ended after four days on Sunday, August 26.

This year's fair hosted 490 companies presenting their products and services – 10 percent more than last year, the TASR newswire wrote. The fair included a number of exhibitions, including a farmers' market with homemade products and a rich accompanying programme.

The event also served as a forum for discussing several pressing issues, including the aftermath of this year's poor harvest and the resulting losses of farmers caused by drought. The government's support for the affected regions and concepts for developing agriculture and food production were also on the agenda. Measures are being prepared by the Agriculture Ministry and are due by the end of the year.
