Disagreement over the selection of a new general prosecutor has exposed instability within Slovakia’s new coalition government. In an attempt to force the hand of rebels within its ranks, Prime Minister Iveta Radičová threatened to step down if Tuesday’s vote in parliament did not lead to the election of the coalition’s official candidate.
