The police say they plan to ask parliament to release an MP with the Slovak National Party for prosecution in the infamous “bulletin board tender”.

A former accountant for the Trnava diocese of the Catholic Church has denied the claims of the Týždeň weekly magazine that former Archbishop Ján Sokol may have secretly diverted funds from the sale of land to the Tesco supermarket chain.

With the resistance in Libya losing ground to Colonel Gaddafi’s forces,Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radičová sided with other NATO alliance leaders in rejecting armed intervention in the conflict in Lybia.
