ON September 10, mountain rescuers saved three dogs trapped on Satan’s peak in the High Tatras.

Earlier that day during another rescue operation, rescuers heard the sound of dogs barking from the mountain. The dogs fled from the terrace of the Chata pri Popradskom Plese mountain chalet after seeing a bear, but wound up trapped in an enclosure, in which the dogs remained stranded for three days.

The rescuers crossed the Hlinské Sedlo saddleback to Satanova Kotlinka (Satan’s Hollow), where they brought the dogs to safety using rope and a lot of improvisation. They then led the dogs to the mouth of the Mengusovská Dolina valley, where they were handed over to their owner, the SITA newswire wrote, quoting the website of the Mountain Rescue Service, hzs.sk.
