TENDERS for mowing lawns, snow removal and cleaning offices will cost three more senior ministry officials their jobs. Defence Minister Jaroslav Baška announced on February 15 that he would dismiss section heads by March 15, the SITA newswire wrote.
An additional two section heads and one coordinator from the ministry's Real Estate Administration Office and the Real Estate and Construction Administration in Bratislava will receive reprimands.
Former minister František Kašický announced his resignation on January 25, following a scandal with public tenders for "cleaning services" and "snow removal" worth almost Sk4 billion. Before he resigned, the minister dismissed head of the Real Estate Administration Office at the Defence Ministry, Vladimír Vaško.
In order to avoid such scandals, the ministry will reorganise its Real Estate Administration Office and the Real Estate and Construction Administrations in Bratislava, Košice and Banská Bystrica. The complex plan should be finished by May 15.
