THREE new foreign investors are heading to eastern Slovakia. The Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Košice announced that, following the Spanish firm Jobelsa and multinational company Faurecia, two more Spanish firms are coming to Košice and one Austrian transport company is arriving in Michalovce, the news wire SITA wrote.

"In contrast to other agencies, our regional chamber managed to attract the investors without any state assistance or extraordinary advantages. These investors will create approximately 600 jobs next year," said Štefan Karas, chamber chairman.

Faurecia joined Jobelsa, which produces accessories for the automotive industry employing about 150 people. This number should grow to approximately 450 in 2005.

Karas did not specify the names of the arriving Spanish companies. One produces clothes and the other is a Catalan transport company. Karas also added that an Austrian transport company that specialises in food commodities will come to Michalovce.
