The regional leaders of three opposition parties: SDKU, the Christian Democrats (KDH) and the Civic Conservative Party (OKS) from Žilina Region signed an agreement on a coalition for the upcoming regional elections on August 19, the TASR newswire wrote. The agreement concerns the elections for both the head of the regional government and for members of the regional council.
The coalition's joint candidate for the head of the region is KDH's Pavel Pavlásek, a lecturer at Źilina University. As for the council elections, KDH will nominate 30 people for the slate, SDKÚ will submit 20 candidates and OKS one. TASR
