Vladimír Mečiar will be at the top of the list of his party’s candidates heading for the general election on June 12 for the Movement for Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) it was decided by more than 220 delegates of the party’s nomination session in Ružomberok on Saturday, March 6, the TASR newswire reported.
HZDS’s parliamentary vice chair Tibor Csabaj will follow in second place, then by MP Milan Rehák, party vice chair Barbora Straková and Environment Ministry State Secretary Jaroslav Jaduš, Mečiar told a press conference after the session.
The Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK) will be led to the general election on June 12 by its chairman Pál Csáky, SMK's national assembly informed TASR on March 6 in Bratislava. SMK parliamentary caucus leader Gyula Bárdos enjoys second place on the list of candidates, followed by vice-chair Jószef Berényi and chairman of SMK’s national assembly Ivan Farkas. SMK vice-chair for education issues Laszlo Szigeti is fifth on the slate.
The national assembly of the Most-Híd party on March 6 chose its chairman, Béla Bugár, for the top of its election list, followed by vice-chairmen Zsolt Simon and Ivan Švejna. Most-Híd has agreed with the Civic Conservative Party (OKS) to run a joint slate with Most-Hid in the general election on June 12. Fourteen representatives of OKS will appear on the list of candidates, with its leader Peter Zajac in 13th position. TASR
