THE SLOVAK tire manufacturer Matador Púchov has established a new company in Great Britain, Matador UK, in order to develop its market directly in the UK.
Matador has a similar operation in Germany where Matador Deutschland manages its business development.
Matador spokesman Pavol Hanzel told the SITA news agency that Matador UK would secure trade-technical and marketing operations, including complex servicing.
Matador sees the British market as promising. The firm's exports to the UK represent 23 percent of the total exports of Matador. Matador's market share in Great Britain was 1.9 percent last year, where the company sold products worth more than Sk500 million (€12.5 million). Matador also exported Sk130 million (€3.2 million) worth of products to Ireland, where its market share reached 7.8 percent.
