SLOVAK police have called off an investigation of former Government Office Roland Toth for corruption, saying no evidence was found of Toth's having abused EU funding for Slovak development programmes.
Toth was dismissed in spring 2001 under suspicion of corruption, while Deputy PM Pavol Hamžík, Toth's boss, was also later fired by Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda for "irresponsibility" in handling the affair.
