The trade deficit in October was Sk13 billion, the highest this year, sending the 2002 figure to Sk74 billion so far and dashing hopes of a radical improvement from last year’s all-time record Sk103 billion.
The Slovak currency, which has been surging in recent weeks, slumped 35 basis points against the euro on the news.
