The Federation of Slovak Train Engineers (FSSR) has slated a one-hour strike for May 27 between 14:50 and 15:50.

"The aim of the strike is to make clear the federation's dissatisfaction with the way that the revitalisation of rail companies is set to be carried out," stated a FSSR spokesperson as quoted by the TASR newswire. The passenger railway company Železničná Spoločnosť Slovensko (ZSSK) has spoken out against the action and employees of the railway infrastructure operator Železnice Slovenskej Republiky (ŽSR) will not participate in the strike. That company and representatives of the Trade Union Association of Train Dispatchers and Traffic Controllers struck a deal on not taking part in the protest strike after talks lasting for several hours, ŽSR spokesperson Martina Pavlíková told the SITA newswire. However, this development will not stop the proposed work stoppage. The president of the federation Milan Hošták confirmed to SITA on May 26 that the action will take place.
