“I cannot judge it, but we are in touch with the European Commission. We have sent them results of last talks with NGOs,” said the minister for the SITA newswire following the cabinet session on June 23.

The Brussels' decision on participation of the European Investment Bank in funding of Slovakia's highway project has been delayed until objections of environmentalists against negative impacts on the environment of the planned highway section between Turany and Hubová are resolved.

A more expensive solution for this section of highway is building a tunnel which would circumvent the protected area but this was turned down because of a tight budget.
