Transport Ministry considers leasing Bratislava Airport

Slovakia’s Transport, Construction and Regional Development Ministry is considering leasing Bratislava's M.R. Štefánik Airport (BTS), the Hospodárske Noviny daily reported on April 24, according to information confirmed by the ministry. The ministry will be advised by a consortium, including consultants Deloitte and law firm Sullivan & Worcester, which won a tender worth €890,000.

"They are the winning bidders because they offered the lowest price, which was the only criterion for assessing the bids," said ministry spokesman Martin Kóňa, as quoted by the TASR newswire. Deloitte commented that, apart from leasing, another solution could be to invite a strategic investor to take an interest in the airport.
