Transport Ministry sets priorities

THE Slovak Transport Ministry announced that its priorities for 2005 are the building of the major D1 Highway and the preparation of a tender to find a strategic partner for improving airport infrastructure.

"At the beginning of February, we plan to evaluate and subsequently choose an advisor who will work with us in looking for strategic partners for Bratislava and Košice airports," Transport Minister Pavol Prokopovič said at a January 13 press conference.

Work on a pilot project in which private companies would build highways using their own funds will also get underway.
