The call for this move came from Mechatronics Faculty lecturer and former education minister Peter Ponický. The TnUAD management reacted by saying that they would not leave their posts and consider the call to be incorrect.

Ponický told TASR that 571 people have signed a petition for the rector's dismissal, adding that he isn't ruling out his own candidacy for the post of rector. The education ministry's State Secretary Jozef Habánik said that the university senate must send the proposal to the ministry.

An inspection carried out by the Education Ministry at the TnUAD found that there were serious mistakes made by the management including the rectorate, said the Education Minister Ján Mikolaj on December 7. The university must put things in order so similar mistakes don't occur in the future, said Mikolaj, adding that in view of this he considers the proposal to recall the rector to be correct. He said that the protocol from the inspection will be available within two or three days, while the ministry will then present it to the Academic Senate of TnUAD. TASR
