The town of Trnava, western Slovakia, is now home to a newly opened support centre for foreigners called ConnecTT. Located in the centre on Františkánska 3 Street, it will provide foreigners living in the town with language and educational courses, legal, social and psychological counseling, workshops, community events and meetings, and other activities.
Currently, there are around 6,880 foreigners of more than 80 nationalities registered in Trnava, with more than 3,000 Ukrainians forming the strongest community, followed by Serbs.
The centre has been founded by the town government, which will finance its activities from the town budget.
"ConnecTT is intended only for those living, studying or working directly in Trnava," said Kristína Nevrlová from the town hall, adding that the main goal is to create an environment in which they will have access to professional help, advice and education, as well as allowing them to integrate into the Trnava community.
The centre's staff will also help them with adaptation to the school and work environment. In the time being, it will be opened on every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. However, consultations via phone or e-mail are available daily.
