The town of Trnava will spend €10 million (Sk300 million) constructing a new Industrial and Technology Park (MPaTP), and will also make use of a subsidy from European funds worth €9.5 million (Sk286 million), project co-ordinator Branislav Pastucha from Trnava town council has announced.
In a few days, the local authorities will sign an agreement on funding with the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), the TASR newswire reported. "Our task now is to find a developer," said Pastucha. The park, which is expected to take three years to construct, will cover an area of one hectare.
The advantages of the MPaTP include its proximity to Bratislava and to main motorways and a qualified and skilled labour force. According to Pastucha, unexpected interest has been shown in the park, and eight companies have signed rental contracts so far. They include: construction companies Agrostav, AGS and Stavmont; Harmann, which produces boilers and heating equipment; and two firms specialising in IT services. These firms will occupy 10 percent of the total area of the park and will create around 200 new jobs. TASR
