Two Slovak banks were robbed in the space of a couple of hours in Bratislava November 15. The Tatra Banka branch on Košická street was robbed of Sk600,000 (€15,000) at noon, while two hours later two masked men escaped with Sk170,000 (€4,260) from the Poštová Banka branch on the Mánesová street, the daily Pravda reported.
The robberies increase the number of bank heists in Bratislava this year to 12. The police have managed to solve only three of these robberies.
The frequency of bank robberies in Slovakia is rising. As a result increased security measures have been adopted.
