U.S.STEEL Košice (USSK) is considering a $200 million (Sk5.8 billion) investment in a new line for the production of tin plate for the automotive industry, the Pravda daily wrote.
According to the plans, the new line will be used to supply car producers Kia and Peugeot Citroen, which will start production in Slovakia within two years.
USSK president Christopher Navetta said that the project is due for approval by the firm’s management in Pittsburgh in early 2005.
