THE NUMBER of the unemployed ready to take a job immediately stood at 12.44 percent in September, down by 0.12 percentage points compared to August. In annual terms, it dropped by 1.40 percentage points, the Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family (ÚPSVaR) informed on October 20.
The labour offices registered together 335,720 jobless ready to take the job immediately in September. In monthly terms their number dropped by 3,105 people, while compared to the previous year it fell by 37,676.
The total number of jobless in Slovakia was 14.01 percent in September, or 378,020 people. Compared to August it was 0.10 percentage points less (down 2,648 people), while compared to September 2013 it dropped by 1.05 percentage points (down by 28,478), according to ÚPSVaR.
The jobless rate dropped in five of Slovakia’s regions in September. The highest decrease was reported by Košice Region (0.27 percentage points month-on-month). The number of the unemployed increased in two regions (Trnava Region by 0.03 percentage points m/m and Banská Bystrica Region by 0.01 percentage points m/m). It remained the same in Bratislava Region.
By the end of September, the labour offices registered together 10,718 vacancies, up by 272 m/m. The most of them were in Bratislava Region (2,092), while the fewest in Košice Region (827), ÚPSVaR informed.
