The month-on-month increase was 0.07 percentage points, bringing the number of Slovaks registered at job centres to 358,652. When people not available for work are added to the figure, it jumps to 399,105.

The Prešov region (eastern Slovakia) had the highest unemployment rate, with almost one in five people (19.3 percent) without a job. The Banská Bystrica region (central Slovakia) followed on almost the same proportion (19.01 percent), with the Košice region (again eastern Slovakia) third on 18.53 percent. ÚPSVaR expects the unemployment rate to stabilise or grow slightly in the near future.
