Unions protest labour code revision

About 150 union demonstrators occupied the labour ministry yesterday to protest a proposed revision of the labour code that would increase maximum overtime hours, permit part-time contracts and make it easier for employers to hire and fire workers.

While labour minister Ľudovít Kaník met the demonstrators and answered their questions, the cabinet remained firm in its design to make the labour code less restrictive for businesses.
