Font size: A - | A +

The National Memory Institute (ÚPN) on September 25 published more records kept by the country's communist-era secret police (ŠtB).

The records, maintained by counterintelligence units on fighting internal and external enemies between 1969-89, include 45 books with 38,800 records on objects of interest to the ŠtB, said Michal Dzurjanin, press secretary of the state-run organisation that was formed five years ago.

The information on this so-called Normalization Period is vital to assess the then-state of society. The related complete files were compiled in the Czech Republic. TASR
