The first part of the Electronic Public Procurement Services project has cost more than €3.5 million, the Public Procurement Office (ÚVO) announced at a press conference assessing the first phase of the project on March 26. The second phase, which is now being prepared, should ensure that all public procurement in Slovakia is digitalised by 2016.
"According to EU directives, all procurement has to be electronic by 2016," ÚVO chairman Zita Táborská said, as quoted by the TASR newswire. She added that her office is working on a feasibility study for the second phase of the programme at the moment. "The project has so far cost more than €3.5 million, and 93.5 percent of the finances available have been drawn from the budget [of Operational Project Informatisation of Society]," said Táborská.
